Dr. Keith L. Clark, DVM

Dr. Clark attended BYU Idaho (Ricks College) and later received a Bachelor of Sciences in Microbiology from the University of Idaho. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University.

He has a special interest in advanced dentistry and orthopedic surgery and provides second opinions on complex cases. His dad, Chad Clark, DVM, was his role model. It was working with his veterinarian father that he learned to serve others and care for animals.

After graduation, he worked with his father doing mixed animals (large and small) for eight years. Veterinary medicine was advancing so quickly that he decided to limit his focus to strictly companion animals (cats and dogs). This has given him the opportunity to provide the level of care he knows is available.

His primary objective is to add years to your pet’s life and life to your pet’s years. He truly believes in keeping healthy pets healthy. He is very active in our local community.

He served on the Central Valley School District board for 17 years and continues to be actively engaged in numerous service organizations. When he is not working, he enjoys fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Ginny Schulken, DVM

Dr. Schulken graduated from Central Valley High School in 2001 and received an associate degree from Spokane Falls Community College. This was followed by a Bachelor of Science Degree (Major in Biology, Minor in Chemistry) from Eastern Washington University.

In 2013, she was recruited away from Petco to start work with us at Pet Vet Hospital and Wellness Center as a veterinary assistant. Shortly after joining our team, she was accepted to Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine. While attending Vet School, she continued to work at Pet Vet Hospital and Wellness Center during the summer and holiday breaks.

In 2018, she graduated toward the top of her class with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree and joined Pet Vet Hospital and Wellness Center as a full-time Associate Veterinarian.

During her years of experience managing our local Petco, she gained invaluable experience with exotics, pocket pets, and fish. We are grateful she brings that expertise to Pet Vet Hospital and Wellness Center and is one of the only veterinarians in the region who provides care for fish.

She lives in a rural setting, which allows her plenty of room for her large menagerie of animals, including horses, goats, snakes, cats, dogs, etc. In her spare time, she is busy caring for her animals and enjoys reading, camping, and bowling.

A competitive equestrian, she still has the same Arabian horse she bought when she was 15 years old. She did her undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University, where she was on the Polo team. She graduated with the highest honors, earning a B.S. in Animal Science and minors in Chemistry and communication studies.

She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association. In her spare time, oh wait, she has no spare time as her husband and four children keep her happily busy and engaged. She joined Pet Vet Hospital and Wellness Center in 2022 and loves the staff who care as deeply about patient care as she does.

Dr. Tara Powers, DVM

Tara grew up as a country kid in rural Okanogan, Washington, and moved to Spokane when she was ten. She comes from a family of engineers and has always loved the sciences but felt more drawn to animals than technology. She knew she wanted to be a vet from a very young age when she would bring rescued kittens to the house, which her parents never understood!

In 2015, Tara began shadowing and volunteering at Bunchgrass Veterinary in Colfax, Washington, while completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology at Washington State University; she was later hired on as an assistant while she waited to begin veterinary school. In 2018, she was accepted into the School of Veterinary Medicine at St. George’s University, Grenada, West Indies. After completing her clinical year at WSU’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital, she moved back to her hometown of Spokane to begin her professional career.

She shares her life with her husband, C.J., and they enjoy just about anything nerdy together, plus camping, hiking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. They have two dogs: a mini Dachshund named Ludwig, a mixed breed named Static, and a Sphynx cat named Moria. Ludwig loves to burrow into any blankets he can find, and Static likes to cling to their sides at all times. Moria is a very affectionate kitty who loves to cuddle and watch TV with them on lazy days.
