More than 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats show signs of  dental disease by the time they are three years old. This can lead to serious health problems. Luckily there are numerous ways to prevent  and treat dental disease.  Our pet's mouths are the perfect place in which bacteria can flourish.  When we don't brush our pet's teeth and stimulate their gums, these bacteria start to multiply causing gingivitis, plaque and tartar build-up. These toxins enter into our pet's bloodstream, circulating through the brain, kidneys, liver and heart causing infection, disease and deterioration of these organs.

Dr. Clark is a member of the American Veterinary Dental Society and has the knowledge, skills, and equipment to perform the treatments properly. He is qualified to perform root canals, advanced periodontal surgeries, and complex extractions. Our healthcare team can teach you about the 4 levels of periodontal disease and how to "flip the lip" on your own pet so that you can assess the home care. A groomer or unlicensed assistant is not competent to provide quality oral healthcare. We want to empower you with knowledge so that you know the difference between valuable oral healthcare or merely grooming.

Take advantage of our special discounts for all dental cleanings in February and get your pet scheduled this month!

Don't forget our SMILES program!

Once your pet has their teeth cleaned, every bit of brushing helps remove soft tarter and keep teeth healthier, longer.

After your pet has their teeth cleaned by Dr. Clark at PET VET, our trained staff will brush your pet's teeth once every month for free!

It is just a quick nurse visit to have your pet's teeth brushed and lets us keep you updated on any problem areas to focus your brushing at home.

What is the VOHC?

VOHC: Veterinary Oral Health Council

The VOCH awards consumer products, like pet food and treats, with their seal. When you see a treat or supplement with the VOHC seal (as seen to the side) you can be confident that product meets rigorous standards to improve your pet's oral health.

Does your favorite pet treat have this seal on it?

Common Products that have been certified:

-Hill's T/D food: original and small bites

-Greenies: Canine and Feline Treats

-Virbac CET Veggiedent Chews

-Essential Healthymouth Drinking Water Additive

-Royal Canin Feline Dental Diet

Otherwise, feeding your dog a "dental" treat or food

without the approval means the company

cannot prove their food helps control

tarter or plaque.
